Common questions
- What are your opening hours?
- Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The practice is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Are you taking new patients?
- Call the office on (309) 243-8455 and ask — availability changes, and the honest answer is whatever it is on the day you call.
- How do I make an appointment?
- Call the office, or send an appointment request through this site. The form is a request rather than a booking: someone will call you back to agree a time.
- What should I bring to my first visit?
- Your insurance information if you have it, a list of any medications you take, and details of any medical conditions. If you have had x-rays taken elsewhere recently, mention it — they may be worth requesting rather than repeating.
- How often should I be seen?
- Every six months suits most people. If you have a history of gum disease or frequent decay, you may be advised to come more often, and you will be told why rather than just how often.
- What do I do if I have a dental emergency?
- Call the office during opening hours. Outside them the practice is closed and messages are not picked up until it reopens, so for severe pain or swelling contact an emergency dental service. If swelling is affecting your breathing or swallowing, go to an emergency room.
- Do you treat children?
- Yes. This is a family practice and children are welcome, including for their first check-up.
- I have not been to a dentist in years. Is that a problem?
- It is one of the most common reasons for a first visit and it is not something you will be lectured about. The appointment is about establishing where things stand and deciding what to do first.
